becoming SE to S 35 to 40 in the central-northern parts in
the second half of the period.
2. DURBAN EAST: SW to S 35 in the south-west towards mid-period spreading
to the north-west by the end of the period.
3. MARION FORTIES EAST: W to SW 35 over the southern half until mid-
period.

DURBAN EAST (32.5S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):
WIND : NE to N 15 to 25, but SW to S 10 to 20 in the south-west
reaching 25 to 35 towards mid-period spreading to the north-
west by the end of the period.
VIS : Good, but moderate to poor in showers and rain in the south-
west spreading to the north-west from mid-period.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m in the south-west spreading to the north-west from
mid-period while reaching 5.0 to 6.0m, with SW swell.
MOZAMBIQUE CHANNEL (10S/25S, EAST COAST/WEST COAST):
WIND : SE to E 10 to 20 in the extreme north, otherwise NE to N 10 to
20 becoming NW to W 05 to 15 in the east from mid-period. It
will become S 15 to 25 in the extreme south-west by end of the
period.
VIS : Good, but moderate in showers and rain in the south-west by
the end of the period.
MADAGASCAR EAST (10S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):
WIND : N to NE 10 to 20 in the south reaching 25 in the south-west
towards mid-period, otherwise SE to E 15 to 25.
VIS : Good, but moderate in showers and rain in the north spreading
to the south-east by the end of the period.
MARION FORTIES EAST (40S/50S, 35E/50E):
WIND : W to SW 15 to 25 reaching 30 to 35 over the southern half
until mid-period.
VIS : Good, but moderate to poor in showers and rain in the south-
west spreading to the north-east by the end of the period.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m in the north-east at first, otherwise 4.5 to 5.5m
reaching 6.5 to 8.0m in the south until mid-period, with SW to
W swell.
