CAPE EAST (32.5S/40S, 20E/50E):
WIND : N to NW 25 to 35 in the east, otherwise W to SW 30 to 40
reaching 45 to 50 in places in the south. It will become E to
NE 15 to 25 in the extreme west towards the end of the period.
VIS : Good in the east for the first half of the period, otherwise
moderate to poor in showers and rain.
SEA STATE: 3.5 to 4.5m in the east for the first half of the period, with
NW swell, otherwise 5.0 to 7.0m with SW to W swell reaching
8.0 to 10.0m in places in the south from mid-period spreading
to the south-eastern parts by end of the period.
DURBAN EAST (32.5S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):
WIND : Anti-cyclonic 05 to 10 in the extreme east for the first half
of the period, otherwise N to NW 15 to 25. It will become S to
SW 30 to 40 in the west from mid-period.
VIS : Good, becoming moderate in showers and rain in the west from
mid-period.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 3.5m in the south-west, with N to NE swell. It will
become 4.0 to 6.0m in the south-west from mid-period, with S
to SW swell, spreading to the entire western part by end of
the period while reaching 6.5m in the extreme south-west.
MOZAMBIQUE CHANNEL:
WIND : E to SE 05 to 15 reaching 20 to 25 in the north.
VIS : Good but moderate in isolated showers in the north.
MADAGASCAR EAST:
WIND : E to SE 15 to 25 but NE to E 10 to 20 in the south.
VIS : Good in the south, otherwise moderate in light showers.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 3.5m in the north, with E to SE swell.
MARION FORTIES EAST (40S/50S, 35E/50E):
WIND : SW 15 to 25 in the south-east at first, otherwise S to SE 15
to 25 reaching 30 to 40 over the central and northern parts
from mid-period but reaching 45 to 50 in the extreme north.
VIS : Moderate to poor in showers and rain but moderate in light
sleet and snow in the south.
SEA STATE: 3.5 to 4.5m reaching 5.0 to 5.5m in the east at first, with W
to swell. It will become 5.5 to 7.5m in the north from mid-
period with S to SE swell, reaching 8.0m to 9.0m in the
extreme north towards the end of the period.
