WIND : W to NW 15 to 25 in the east reaching 30 to 35 in the east in
the first half of the period, otherwise SW to W 15 to 25
reaching 35 to 45 west and central by spreading to the east by
the end of the period. It will become NW 20 to 30 in the west
by mid-period reaching 35 in the west by the second half of
the period.
VIS : Moderate to poor in showers and rain, becoming good in the
north in the second half of the period.
SEA STATE: 4.0 to 5.5m reaching 6.0 to 7.0m in the south-west spreading
central towards the end of period, SW to W swell.
DURBAN EAST (32.5S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):
WIND : N to NW 15 to 25 in the east, otherwise S to SW 15 to 25 in
the west.
VIS : Moderate in showers and rain, otherwise good.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m in the extreme south and central, SW swell.
MOZAMBIQUE CHANNEL:
WIND : SE 10 to 20 in the north and central at first otherwise
NE to E 15 to 25 but SE to S 15 to 25 in the extreme south-
west in the south and in places in the south-west.
VIS : Good, but moderate in the north.
SEA STATE: 2.5m in the extreme south, SW swell.
MADAGASCAR EAST:
WIND : SE 15 to 25 in the north, otherwise E to NE 15 to 25.
VIS : Good in the south-west, otherwise moderate in showers in
places.

MARION FORTIES EAST (40S/50S, 35E/50E):
WIND : N to NW 20 to 30 reaching 35 to 45 in the south-east and east-
central at first, and in the north and central in the first
half of the period. It will become W to SW 15 to 25 in the
west spreading to the east by the end of the period.
VIS : Good but moderate to poor in showers places at times.
SEA STATE: 4.0 to 5.0m reaching 6.0 to 7.0m in the east in the first half
of the period, NW to W swell.
