WIND : W to NW 15 to 25, reaching 35 to 45 in places in the west at
first, becoming SW 15 to 25 in the extreme west spreading to
the central parts by the end of the period.
VIS : Moderate to poor in showers and rain in places.
SEA STATE: 3.5 to 4.5m SW to W swell in the south-east at first,
otherwise 5.0 to 6.0m SW swell in the west, reaching 7.0 to
8.0m in places, but 9.0 to 10m in the extreme south-west.
DURBAN EAST (32.5S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):
WIND : NE to N 10 to 20 in the east, otherwise NW 10 to 20 but
anticyclonic 05 to 15 in the south-west where it will become
NE 15 to 25 towards mid-period.
VIS : Good but moderate in showers places in the east.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m in the extreme south-east, SW swell.
MOZAMBIQUE CHANNEL:
WIND : SW to S 10 in the extreme east, but SE to E 10 to 20 in the

– Low 991 near 48S/46E, moving eastward and deepening, expected 978 near
51S/57E the 11/08 at 00UTC. Associated warm front (WF) axis 50S/42E,
48S/53E, 44S/60E and cold front (CF) axis 48S/46E, 36S/44E, 28S/37E,
both moving eastward.
– High 1029 near 29S/64E, slow-moving.
PART 3: FORECAST FOR 24 HOURS from 10/08/24 at 0600 UTC to 11/08/24 at 0600UTC :
WAM (30S/40S,50E/65E) :Rain, showers and thundery squalls with CF over southern area. Scattered showers in north.
WIND: anticlockwise3/4 in far north-east, but NW 5/7 with gusts elsewhere
decreasing 4/6 later.
SEA : moderate to rough, locally very rough in far south. SW swell 2 to 3m.
VISI: poor or very poor in precipitations.
AMS (30S/40S,65E/80E) :Few showers, then rain and showers with CF over southern area later.
WIND: anticlockwise 3/5 in north, but W or NW 5/6 with gusts in south,
locally 7 in far south-east at first.

CRO (40S/50S,50E/65E) :Frontal rain and showers with WF and CF (snow in south in the vicinity of WF), and thundery squalls with CF. Showers and thundery squalls behind CF.
WIND: N to NW 5/7 locally 8. Gusts. Backing gradually W to NW.
SEA : rough to very rough. W to SW swell 2 to 4 m.
VISI: poor or very poor in precipitations.
KER (40S/50S,65E/80E) :Showers in east at first. Frontal rain and showers with WF and CF (snow in south in the vicinity of WF), and thundery squalls with CF. Showers behind CF over western area at end.
WIND: SW 5 to 8 from west to east, locally 9 in far east at firts,
backing gradually NW then W from western area and decreasing 6/7
locally 8. Severe gusts.
