WIND : S to SW 15 to 25 over the central parts, otherwise E to NE 20
to 30 but NW 25 to 35 in the extreme west.
VIS : Good over the central parts, otherwise moderate to poor in
showers and rain.
SEA STATE: 3.5 to 4.5m in south-west, reaching 5.0 to 6.0m in extreme
south-west, SW swell.
DURBAN EAST (32.5S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):
WIND : N to NW 15 to 25, but S to SW 10 to 20 but N to NE 10 to 20
in the extreme west.
VIS : Moderate in showers and rain.
MOZAMBIQUE CHANNEL:
WIND : S to SE 10 to 15, becoming NE 10 to 20 in the extreme south-
west.
VIS : Good, but moderate in showers in the south.
MADAGASCAR EAST:
WIND : S to SE 10 to 20, but N to NE 10 to 20 in the south.
VIS : Moderate in showers and thundershowers in places.
MARION FORTIES EAST (40S/50S, 35E/50E):
WIND : E to NE 10 to 20 reaching 30 to 35 over the central parts, but
S to SW 10 to 20 in the north-west. it will become N to NW 15
to 25 in the north-west by mid-period.
VIS : Good, but moderate in showers and rain in the north-west
spreading towards the east by the end of the period.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m in the north-west spreading towards the central
parts by mid-period, SW swell.

– Low 996 hPa near 45S/73E, moving eastward.
– Thundery low 1010 hPa near 30S/46E, forecast 1008 hPa near 35S/54E at
end.
– High 1027 hPa near 51S/44E forecast 1028 hPa near 48S/52E at end with
associated ridge 1025 hPa axis 48S/52E, 30S/73E.
PART 3: FORECAST FOR 24 HOURS from 25/07/24 at 1800 UTC to 26/07/24 at 1800 UTC :
WAM (30S/40S,50E/65E) : Rain, showers and thundery squalls by north-western with the thundery low. Strong gusts with squalls.
WIND: Becoming clockwise 5/6 by northwestern and increasing 7/8 south of
the low later. Southwesterly 5/6 over far southeastern becoming
variable 3/5.
SEA : Rough to very rough from northwest to southeast, becoming rough. SW
swell 3/5m decreasing 2/3m later.
VISI: Poor in precipitations.
AMS (30S/40S,65E/80E) : Scattered showers, more frequent over far southern at start.
WIND: West 5/6 over northern, 7/8 over southern. becoming southwest 6/7
over southeastern later and anticlockwise 3/5 over northwestern.
SEA : Rough to very rough, locally high over Southern area. South-West \
swell 3 to 5m.
VISI: Poor in precipitations.
CRO (40S/50S,50E/65E) :Scattered showers.
WIND: Anticlockwise 3/5, temporary S 5/6 over eastern at start. Becoming
SW 5/6 over southeastern soon, locally 7 over far southeastern at
end.
SEA : rough to very rough, becoming moderate to rough by western soon.
Southerly swell 3 to 5 m abating.
VISI: Generally good.
KER (40S/50S,65E/80E) : Showers and squalls over northern leaving the area by eastern later. Scattered snow showers over southern.
WIND: Clockwise 5/6, locally 7/8 over far Northern. Becoming south
westerly 5/6 by southern soon and increasing 7/8 later.
SEA : Rough to very rough, locally high over far Northern. Westerly swell
3 to 5m.
VISI: Poor in precipitations.
