A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE COVERS MOST OF NEW ZEALAND, WITH A FRONT
OVER THE LOWER SOUTH ISLAND BEING THE EXCEPTION. THE FRONT LINGERS
THERE TODAY AND TOMORROW, UNABLE TO MOVE NORTH DUE TO THE
AFOREMENTIONED RIDGE. THE FRONT STARTS MOVING NORTH AGAINST THE RIDGE
OF HIGH PRESSURE ON SUNDAY, ENERGISED BY A DEVELOPING LOW IN THE
TASMAN SEA. THE FRONT PERISHES AROUND CENTRAL NEW ZEALAND BUT BY THIS
POINT THAT LOW IS NOT FAR BEHIND. ON MONDAY THE LOW MOVES ONTO THE
COUNTRY LEAVING THE FAR EAST OF THE NORTH ISLAND THE LAST REFUGE OF
THE RIDGE.
