WIND : NW 15 to 25 in the extreme north-east in the first half of the
period, otherwise W to SW 15 to 25, reaching 30 in the north-
west in the first half of the period.
VIS : Moderate in showers and rain in places, becoming good in the
extreme north-west towards the end of the period.
SEA STATE: Nil in the east, otherwise 3.5 to 4.5m reaching 5.5 to 6.0 in
the west and central in the first half of the period, SW
swell.
DURBAN EAST (32.5S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):
WIND : NW 10 to 20 in the east, otherwise anti-cyclonic 10 to 20.
VIS : Good but moderate in showers and rain in places at times.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m in the south-west spreading to the south-central
by the end of the period, SW swell.
MOZAMBIQUE CHANNEL:
WIND : Anti-cyclonic 10 to 20 in the south, otherwise SE to E 10 to
20, but 25 in the extreme north-east.
VIS : Good but moderate in showers in the extreme south.
MADAGASCAR EAST:
WIND : N to NE 10 to 20 in the south, otherwise S to SE 15 to 25 but
variable 05 to 10 in the extreme south-west.
VIS : Moderate in showers in places.
MARION FORTIES EAST (40S/50S, 35E/50E):
WIND : NW to W 15 to 25 reaching 35 in the central and west but anti-
cyclonic 05 to 15 in the central in the first half of the
period.

Waving front reaching South-Western WAM and Western CRO and moving Eastward slowly.
Cold front along 35E between 35S and 52S, moving Eastward 25/30 kt.
High 1022 hPa near 50S/62E, moving north-eastward, expected 1025 hPa over Southern AMS near 40S/70E at end.

WAM (30S/40S,50E/65E) :
Frontal showers with thundery squalls by Western.
WIND: Anticlockwise 2/4 increasing N 4 to 6 ahead the front by western
soon and backing W 3/4 behind. Gust with squalls.
SEA: Moderate to rough. SW swell 2 to 3 m abating.
VIS: Poor in precipitation.
AMS (30S/40S,65E/80E) :
Frontal rain and showers moving Eastward.
WIND: NW 5/6 over far north-eastern ahead of the front backing Westerly 4
to 5 behind and increasing Southerly 4 to 6 over southern. Becoming
anticlockwise 2*/4 by Western later.
SEA: Moderate to rough. Westerly swell 2 to 3 m over northern and S
swell 2 to 3 m over southern.
VIS: Poor in precipitation.
CRO (40S/50S,50E/65E) :
Rain and frontal showers with the fronts by western.
WIND: Anticlockwise 2 to 4 increasing Northerly 4 to 6 by western at
first and backing W 2 to 4 behind at end.
SEA: Moderate to rough. Slight W swell.
VIS: Poor in precipitation.
KER (40S/50S,65E/80E) :
Few showers.
WIND: Clockwise 4 to 6 over northern, setting up soon Southerly 4 to 6
and decreasing anticlockwise 2 to 4 over western soon and N 4/6
over western at end.
SEA : Moderate to rough, locally very rough over the far south-eastern. S
swell 2 to 3 m.
VIS : Mainly good.
