VIS : Moderate in showers and rain in places in the west spreading
east, otherwise good.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m, reaching 4.5 to 5.5m in the west but 6.0
to 8.0 in the extreme east, SW swell.
DURBAN EAST (32.5S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):
WIND : Anti-cyclonic 05 to 15 but NW 15 to 20 at times in the south.
VIS : Good but moderate in showers and rain at times in the south.
SEA STATE: 3.0m in the extreme south-west at the end of the period,
SW swell.
MOZAMBIQUE CHANNEL:
WIND : N to NE 05 to 15 in the south-west, otherwise E to SE 10
to 20 reaching 25 in the extreme north-east
VIS : Good but moderate in showers in the extreme north at times.
MADAGASCAR EAST:
WIND : S to SE 15 to 25 but NE 10 to 20 in the south.
VIS : Moderate in showers in places.
MARION FORTIES EAST (40S/50S, 35E/50E):

– Cold front axis 31S/36E, 35S/41E, 42S/43E, 46S/42E, 47S/40E moving eastward 10/15 kt.
– High 1020 hPa near 53S/59E, moving north-eastward, expected over west KER at end.
PART 3: FORECAST FOR 24 HOURS from 19/07/24 at 1800 UTC to 20/07/24 at 1800 UTC:
WAM (30S/40S,50E/65E) : Frontal showers over south-west later.
WIND : anticlockwise 2 to 4 increasing NW 4 to 6 ahead the front over
southwestern area.
SEA : moderate to rough. W swell 2 to 3 m abating.
VISI : poor in precipitation.
AMS (30S/40S,65E/80E) : Frontal rain and showers. Scattered showers.
WIND : NW 6 to 7 over far north-eastern ahead the front backing W 4 to 5
behind and increasing S 4 to 6 over southern at end. Gusts.

VISI : poor in precipitation.
CRO (40S/50S,50E/65E) : Showers.
WIND : anticlockwise 2 to 4 increasing N 4 to 6 by western area at first
and decreasing variable 2 to 4 over western area later.
SEA : moderate to rough. Slight Westerly swell.
VISI : poor in precipitation.
KER (40S/50S,65E/80E) : Rain and frontal showers over north-eastern.
WIND : clockwise 4 to 6 over northern area, variable 2 to 4 elsewhere,
increasing S 4 to 6 soon and decreasing anticlockwise 2 to 4 over
western later.
SEA : rough becoming moderate to rough. Slight westerly swell over
northern, S swell 2 to 3 m over south-eastern.
VISI : poor in precipitation.
