WIND : W to NW 15 to 25, reaching 30 to 40 in the west, but SW 20 to
30 in the north west second half of the period.
VIS : Good in the extreme north and east, otherwise moderate in showers and
thundershowers.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m, SW swell.
DURBAN EAST (32.5S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):
WIND : NE 10 to 20 but NW 10 to 15 in the south west.
VIS : Good, but moderate in the south west.
MOZAMBIQUE CHANNEL:
WIND : SE 15 to 25, reaching 30 in the north-east, but N to NE 10
to 20 in the south.
VIS : Good, but moderate in showers in the extreme north.
MADAGASCAR EAST:
WIND : S to SE 20 to 30, but NE 10 to 20 in the south.
VIS : Moderate in showers in places.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 3.5m in the north, SE swell.

PART 1: WARNING :
– Strong gale force 9 over KER.
– Gale force 8 over far southern AMS.
PART 2: GENERAL SYNOPSYS, 24/07/13 at 0000 UTC :
– Low 976 hPa near 47S/75E with cold front over eastern KER, leaving the
area soon.
– Weakening high 1029 hPa near 28S/64E.
– High 1027 hPa near 51S/29E with a ridge extending toward CRO.
PART 3: FORECAST FOR 24 HOURS from 13/07/24 at 0600 UTC to 14/07/24 at 0600UTC :
WAM (30S/40S,50E/65E) :Frontal rains and showers over southern part.
WIND: W 3 to 5, locally 6 over far eastern area, becoming variable 2 to 4
by western area later.
SEA : Rough to very rough from North to South, becoming moderate over
western area at end. WSW swell , 3 to 5 m abating 2 to 3 meters
later.
VIS : poor in precipitation.
AMS (30S/40S,65E/80E) :Frontal rains and showers over southern part.
WIND: Westerly 5 to 7 from north to south area, increasing 8 over far
southern, decreasing S 4 to 5 over southern area soon.
SEA : rough to very rough in north, very rough to high in south. SW swell
3 to 6 m from north to south abating 3 to 4 meters at end.
VIS : poor in precipitation.
CRO (40S/50S,50E/65E) :Showers and frontal over northern. Locally snow.
WIND: S 5/6 over eastern area decreasing anticlockwise 2/4 locally 5, by
western at first.
SEA : rough to very rough, becoming moderate to rough from west to east
later. W swell 3 to 4 meters, abating from north to south abating 2
meters later.
VIS : poor in precipitation.
KER (40S/50S,65E/80E) :Rain/snow, showers and frontal squalls. Violent gusts.
WIND: Clockwise 7 to 9, decreasing S 5 to 6 by western area overnight.
SEA : very rough to high, locally very high over northern at first,
becoming rough to very rough by western later. W swell 4 to 6 m
abating later.
VIS : poor in precipitation.
