CAPE EAST (32.5S/40S, 20E/50E):
WIND : N to NW 15 to 25 in the extreme east at first, reaching 35 to
40 in places, otherwise S to SW 15 to 25, reaching 35 to 45
in places, but anti-cyclonic 05 to 15 in the south-west,
spreading to the north-west by the end of the period.
VIS : Good, moderate to poor in showers and rain in the east.
SEA STATE: 3.5 to 4.5m, reaching 5.5 to 6.5m in the central parts at
first, spreading to the east by the end of the period, SW
swell.
DURBAN EAST (32.5S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):
WIND : N to NW 15 to 25 in the extreme east, otherwise S to SW 15 to
25, reaching 35 to 40 over the west and central parts until
mid-period.
VIS : Good, but moderate in showers and rain in the east.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m, except in the north-east, reaching 5.0 to 6.0m in
the in places in the west at first, spreading to the central
parts by the end of the period, S to SW swell.

WIND : S to SE to S 10 to 20, reaching 25 in the north-west, but NE

MARION FORTIES EAST (40S/50S, 35E/50E):
WIND : S to SW 15 to 25, reaching 35 in the north-east at times until
mid-period while becoming W to NW 15 to 25 in the south-west,
reaching 35 in places, moderating towards the end of the
period.
VIS : Moderate to poor in showers and rain, but good over the
central parts.
SEA STATE: 4.0 to 5.0m, reaching 6.0 to 6.5m in places in the west at
first, spreading to the north-east by the end of the period, W
to SW swell.

– Gale force 8 running to Strong Gale force 9 expected over WAM and CRO
later.
PART 2: GENERAL SYNOPSYS, 24/06/07 at 1200 UTC :
– High 1034 hPa near 36S/67E, expected 1031 hPa near 37S/76E at the end.
– Waving front CF over CRO and WAM moving Eastward and reaching
South-Western KER in the daytime.
PART 3: FORECAST FOR 24 HOURS from 07/06/24 at 1800 UTC to 08/06/24 at
1800 UTC :
WAM (30S/40S,50E/65E): Rain, squalls and frontal showers by western area
with CF.
WIND: Northerly 4/5, increasing ahead of the front 6/7 then later 7/8
with severe gusts over south-western half, reaching locally 9 in
the south, backing SW 6/7 locally 8 over far south-western at the
end.
SEA : moderate to rough, becoming very rough to locally high behind the
front. S swell 2/3m then Northerly swell 2/4m with the front.
VISI: Poor to very poor under precipitation.
AMS (30S/40S,65E/80E): Few showers.
WIND: Anticlockwise 3/5, but Southerly 4/5 over Eastern at first.
SEA : Rough to very rough from West to East, becoming moderate to rough
at the end. South-westerly swell 4/6m, abating 2/4m by western
soon.
VISI: Good.
CRO (40S/50S,50E/65E): Rain, squalls and frontal showers with CF. locally
snow over southern.
WIND: NW 6/7 with severe gusts ahead of CF, then reaching 8/9 later over
northern area and backing Southerly 6/8.
SEA : rough to very rough, becoming high near the front. South-westerly
swell 2/3m ahead of the front and NW swell 3/5m behind.
VISI: poor to very poor under precipitation.
KER (40S/50S,65E/80E): Rain, squalls and frontal showers with CF. locally
snow by south-western in the daytime.
WIND: Westerly 4 to 6 increasing later by southwest NW 5 to 7.
SEA : rough to very rough. SW swell 3 to 5m then later Westerly swell
2/4m by western.
VISI: poor under precipitation.
