CAPE EAST (32.5S/40S, 20E/50E):
WIND : Anti-cyclonic 05 to 15 in the east, otherwise N to NW 20 to
30, reaching 35 in the central south, spreading to the south-
east towards the end of the period. It will reach 35 in the
extreme south-west by the end of the period.
VIS : Good, but moderate in showers and rain in places in the south.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m reaching 5.0m to 6.0m in the south-west SW swell.
DURBAN EAST (32.5S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):
WIND : N to NE 15 to 25 in the west, otherwise E to SE 15 to 25,
reaching 30 in the central north mid-period.
VIS : Good
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m in the east, SW swell.
MOZAMBIQUE CHANNEL:
WIND : S to SE 15 to 25, reaching 30 in the extreme south-east
towards the end of the period.
VIS : Good but moderate in showers and thundershowers in the north.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 3.5m in the south, SW swell, becoming SE towards the
end of the period.
MADAGASCAR EAST:
WIND : S to SE 15 to 25, reaching 30 in the extreme north-west by
mid-period.

MARION FORTIES EAST (40S/50S, 35E/50E):
WIND : W to NW 25 to 35, reaching 40 at times but 10 to 20 in the
north-west at first, becoming anti-cyclonic 05 to 10 in the
north-west towards the end of the period.
VIS : Moderate in showers and rain in the south-west, spreading to
the south-east and north-west from mid-period, while
clearing from the south-west.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m but 5.0 to 6.0m in the south where it will reach
6.5 to 7.5m by mid-period, W to NW swell.

– Cold front (CF) axis 24S/52E, 30S/60E, 40S/74E, 48S/84E, moving eastward.- High 1031 near 39S/47E, slowly moving eastward and building, expected 1035 near 37S/56E the 20/05 at 12UTC.- Cold front (CG) over far eastern CRO at end.
PART 3: FORECAST FOR 24 HOURS from 19/05/24 at 1800 UTC to 20/05/24 at 1800 UTC :
WAM (30S/40S,50E/65E): Rain, frontal showers and squalls over far north-eastern at first with CF. Few showers behind.
WIND: S to SW 4/6, locally 7 with gusts, becoming anticlockwise 2/4 from
south-western area, but NW 5/7 with gusts over far south-western
at end.
SEA : rough or very rough. SW swell, 3 to 5 meters, decreasing 2 to 4
meters.
VISI: poor or very poor in precipitations.
AMS (30S/40S,65E/80E): Rain, frontal showers and squalls with CF.
WIND: NW 4/6 ahead of CF, increasing 7 with severe gusts in the vicinity
of th front, backin gradually S 5/6 behind, locally 7 near the
front. Decreasing S 4/5 at end over far south-western area.
SEA : rough or very rough. SW swell, 3 to 5 meters.
VISI: poor or very poor in precipitations.
CRO (40S/50S,50E/65E): Few showers, then rain and frontal showers and squalls with CG over far eastern at end.
WIND: SW 4/6, becoming anticlockwise 3/4 over far northern, increasing NW
6/7 with gusts from eastern soon, then 7/9 with severe gusts later.
SEA : rough or very rough, but high and crossed over far south-western at
end. Long SW swell 3 to 5 meters.
VISI: poor or very poor in precipitations.
KER (40S/50S,65E/80E): Rain, frontal showers and squalls over far north-eastern area at first, then few showers (locally snowy in south)
WIND: SW 5/7 decreasing 4/6 at first, but increasing 5/7 with gusts over far south-western at end.
SEA : rough or very rough. Long W swell, 3 to 5 meters, decreasing 2 to 4
meters.
