CAPE EAST (32.5S/40S, 20E/50E):
WIND : Anti-cyclonic 05 to 15 in the east, otherwise N to NW 15 to 25
reaching 30 in the central parts and south-west towards mid-
period but 35 in the central south towards the end of the
period.
VIS : Good, but moderate in showers and rain in places in the west.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m reaching 5.0m to 6.0m in the west from mid-period,
SW swell.
DURBAN EAST (32.5S/25S, EAST COAST/55E):
WIND : NE 15 to 25 in the west, otherwise E to SE 15 to 25.
VIS : Good, but moderate in showers and rain at times during the
first half of the period.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m reaching 4.5m in the south-east, SW swell.
MOZAMBIQUE CHANNEL:
WIND : S to SE 15 to 25.
VIS : Good but moderate in showers and thundershowers in the north.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 3.5m in the south, SW swell.
MADAGASCAR EAST:
WIND : S to SE 10 to 20 reaching 25 to 30 in the south and in the
extreme north-west towards mid-period.

WIND : Anti-cyclonic 05 to 15 in the north-east at first, otherwise W

the north-west from mid-period and to the north-east towards
the end of the period.
VIS : Moderate in showers and rain in the south-west, spreading to
the south-east and north-west from mid-period.
SEA STATE: 3.0 to 4.0m reaching 5.0 to 6.0m in the south but 6.5 to 7.0m
in the south-west towards the end of the period, W to NW
swell.

WAM (30S/40S,50E/65E) : Rain, frontal showers and squalls over North-
Eastern.
WIND : S or SW 4 to 6, locally 7 with gusts, becoming at end
anticlockwise 2 to 4 over South-Western.
SEA : very rough. Long SW swell, 3 to 5 meters.
VISI : poor in precipitation.
AMS (30S/40S,65E/80E) : Rain, frontal showers and squalls.
WIND : NW 4 to 6 ahead the front, increasing 7 with severe gusts in
the front, backing gradually S 5 to 6 behind, locally 7 near
front.
SEA : rough ahead the front, very rough behind. Long SW swell, 3 to 5
meters.
VISI : poor in precipitation.
CRO (40S/50S,50E/65E) : Few showers (locally snowy showers over
Southern).
WIND : S 6 to 7 then later W 6 or 7 with gusts, setting-up at end
anticlockwise 2 to 4 over far Northern.
SEA : very rough, locally rough over North-Western. Long W swell, 3
to 5 meters, decreasing.
VISI : poor in precipitation.
KER (40/50S,65E/80E) : Rain, frontal showers and squalls over North-
Eastern at first, then showers (locally snowy
showers over southern).
WIND : SW or W 6 to 7, setting-up gradually S 4 or 5 over Northern, W
4 to 6 over Southern.
